TMJ Disorder

Many people suffer from painful symptoms caused by the way their bite fits together. If the upper jaw and the lower jaw are not positioned correctly, the muscles in the cheeks and temple areas often become fatigued. This fatigue eventually leads to a progression of symptoms that affect other parts of the body in addition to just the mouth. If you notice any of the following signs or symptoms you may be developing TMJ disorder.

  • Headaches or migraines
  • Unexplained loose teeth
  • Worn, chipped or cracked teeth
  • Cracking, chipping or breaking dental restorations
  • Pain or soreness around the jaw joints
  • Pain in teeth that seems to move around
  • Facial, neck, shoulder or back pain
  • Clicking or grating sounds in the jaw joints
  • Limited movement or locking jaw
  • Numbness in fingers and arms
  • Congestion or stuffiness of the ears
